The State Of Being Inept Keith Urban Myths Skeptic Maclen: Miserable

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So despite all logic, maclen, ridiculous and inept skeptic maclen, continues to harp on albums sales figures. She says Capitol could have dumped him, despite the reality he was their top-selling artist. Let's forget today about the economy, phenom acts, acts that are new and have that honeymoon period, and Keith's documented success through digital sales. Let's take a look at other artists that should be dumped for no certification, certification taking too long, not making platinum sales or sales not performing to previous levels. Pure stats. Because after all, maclen can't be wrong, can she?

maclen: The fact of the matter...the one point I try to make on this blog...over and over...and over and over...is that THERE IS consequences to NOT selling as many cds as you have in the past! You know, the fansies can carp on about some other superfluous award nom or win...but that is just...PROMO...they can carp on about another featured cover story in People mag....but again, that is just PROMO...appearances on talk show...what was that word again? Oh right...PROMO! Now as to the noms and awards...it is true that the orb is not getting as much as he once did 5 years ago...and that is a reflection on his current standing in the country music industry..."out with the old and in with the new" is always and constantly in play. But if the extra media PR apparatus exposure the orb is now getting...especially with the collapse of "mutt"...and he still isnt able to simply sell cds to even his previous standards, he will be out of there. I felt CapNash was in the position to dump the orb from the label with the diminished cd sales of whole crazy..but they decided to stick with the orb for the next cd, Defying Sales. And now they are about to release another cd...perhaps rush releasing it before the orb's cds are usually released...and perhaps in a "stripped down approach"... if the orb doesnt sell...he is definately finished. And no amount of excuses or explainations from his monkeys...no amount of "organizing" or media "rigging" can save him in what I really believe is a certain inevitability.

Awards don't count....because Keith has been nominated and won. Tours don't count....because he's had successful ones. Appearances don't count....because Keith has been asked and well-received at many places, from television to charity events.

Of course the only thing that matters is album sales!

We could list more but there's really no need. Look through other artists like Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Reba McEntire you'll see the same thing...sales that fluctuate or decrease. And in spite of that their labels didn't drop them, they didn't start touring the casino circuit, and they didn't plan a move to Branson! According to inept skeptic maclen they should be dropped!

The skeptics have tunnel vision. They can't accept that Keith Urban, without their help, has become one of the established artists of the genre. He's had hits in the US for over 10 years and is at the top of the country music ladder.

But poor pathetic maclen. The only thing she has for her blog is album sales, because those are diminished numbers. It doesn't stop there readers. Maclen is in a really bad way. Check out the top right sidebar for the true state of where she is. She can't admit the truth about Urban Myths and she can't admit the truth about Keith Urban or Nicole Kidman. Also, be sure to take a listen to the skeptics new theme song, just below the Skeptic Zone logo!

Keith Urban & Nicole Kidman Updates 08/14/10

Keith Urban concert review, August 13 2010, Iowa State Fair, Des Moines Iowa

Blog post by Sophia Ahmad • sahmad@dmreg.com • August 13, 2010

The first Friday night Grandstand show of the 2010 Iowa State Fair was a time to throw back a cold one, hear an idol and see a star.

Country music singer Keith Urban headlined the concert and was preceded by “American Idol” season eight winner, Kris Allen.

Urban kicked of his set with “Kiss A Girl,” and within the first few familiar guitar strums, the crowd of 10,051 was on its feet, singing along.

A few sound flubs in the opener didn’t phase the seasoned musician. His style was laid back — he sometimes pointed out to fans, other times, he stepped back from the microphone to riff and engage in some emphatic foot-tapping.“Days Go By” ended with a brief strobe-light show, then Urban slowed things down with “Stupid Boy,” the second single off his 2006 album, “Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing.”
“Good evening, Des Moines … Are we feeling alright tonight?” Urban asked, amidcheers.

“It’s not raining, that’s good,” he said looking out to the sky which flashed lighting and emanated a menacing yellowish hue minutes before.

Friday’s concert was part of a three-day break from Urban’s studio sessions. He performs Saturday at the Indiana State Fair before returning back to record new material Monday, he said in a video posted to his website Thursday.

Kris Allen opened the concert with a fresh, bold sound that especially prepped the audience for the rock component of Urban’s country-rock sound. His 40-minute set included hits like “The Truth,” released from his self-titled debut album, and a toned-down version of Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror,” the first song he sang on “American Idol.” “Live Like We’re Dying” was a crowd-pleaser, eliciting cheers from the stands.

Cy Chandavong, guitarist for Des Moines rock band Gimikk, was in attendance with his wife, Tina. Both are “huge” Urban fans, they said.

“My husband loves him as a guitarist. I’ve always loved his music — he sings great songs and he’s a great singer,” Tina Chandavong said.

In June 2009, Urban and Taylor Swift played to a sold-out crowd of 13,620 at Wells Fargo Arena. Footage from that show was used in the music video for “Only You Can Love Me This Way,” which was released in August that year.

Des Moines didn’t get a video shoot this time, but it still fared pretty well and was treated to an encore performance of the song.

“We shot this video right here in Des Moines!” Urban said, before launching into the ballad.

From CMT.com's Chet Flippo, an interesting piece on labels going by a formula of acts that have recently broken through, rather than developing unique country music talent. Keith is not mentioned but Flippo reveals why it's so hard to get a chart-topping single when you're starting out and the battle every week for established artists.

"Radio has only so many slots for new songs, and it's a crowded house. These days, singles seem to take forever to climb the chart. Lee Brice's "Love Like Crazy" has just climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard country singles chart, and it has taken 51 weeks for that song to get there. That's the most extreme current example, but you see what I mean about limited room for newcomers. In 1988, there were 48 No. 1 country songs. In 2008, there were only 20."

Urban Myths Skeptics And Maclen
Looking In All The Wrong Places

maclen: Yeah, you're sure right about the neglect of the orb form CapNAsh website, blue sky! Under "CURRENT ARTISTS" at the website...

C'mon skeptics, you know where to look for the latest on Keith Urban. It's never ever been the Capitol Nashville site and each one of you know it, especially you maclen! Your "facts" are an indicator of nothing! Context and history is everything!

maclen: Well, as I contented last year when his cd, Defying Sales sold so poorly, he would be hard pressed to pay back CapNash for the money NOT made back by the mediocre album...the orb is scrambling for that extra dough to keep capnash from dumping his behind!

"Capnash"? That's real skepticspeak coming from someone who claims they aren't a skeptic! Whoops!

Here's more bad news for Inept Senior Skeptic maclen! Who is tops at Capitol Nashville? Why it's Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum!

From December 2009

http://www.billboard.biz/billboardbiz/photos/pdf/country_update.pdf

This week’s Billboard Country Update, the last of the year, includes not only the weekly Hot Country Songs chart, but also a recap of the top country artists, songs and labels of 2009.Suffice it to say, Capitol Nashville has plenty to be happy about. Keith Urban rules the Hot Country Songs Artists tally, thanks to three titles on the Hot Country Songs chart: “Sweet Thing” (No. 9), “Only You Can Love Me This Way” (No. 19) and “Kiss a Girl” (No. 25) all rank within the top 25 for the year. Lady Antebellum, the hot trio comprising Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, dominates the Hot Country Songs recap, placing “I Run to You” at No. 1 for the year. The group’s most recent hit, “Need You Now,” also lands in the top 50 for the year (No. 48). Meanwhile, Capitol Nashville repeats at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs Imprints and overtakes Arista Nashville on the Hot Country Songs Labels chart. Arista Nashville, MCA Nashville, Mercury and Big Machine round out the top five imprints

The need for finding material for the Urban Myths blog is great. There's a treasure trove out there. Why not focus on what's really going on....Trespass is in preproduction, a former co-star being interviewed by Nicole, Keith as honorary dean for the Grammy camp, the Starry Night benefit, Nicole's UNIFEM website, Keith's summer concert tour....the real stuff. All you've got is old lies and rumors and false hope.

Meanwhile, in the real world as Keith records his next album it's too bad Urban Myths thinks Keith isn't doing anything in the studio.

From the country duo LoCash Cowboys...

LoCash Cowboys: BREAKING NEWS: KEITH URBAN jst RECORDED a song WE WROTE 4 his upcoming album! Its calld "YOU GUNNA FLY" (WOO HOOOO) feelin great 2day! -pb 3:52 PM Jul 20th via TweetDeck

maclen: Yes...impressive Urban Myths...A DAY in the studio! It does make you wonder what would be SO important about a few gigs at a festival or a few more gigs at a county fair! Well, as I contented last year when his cd, Defying Sales sold so poorly, he would be hard pressed to pay back CapNash for the money NOT made back by the mediocre album...the orb is scrambling for that extra dough to keep capnash from dumping his behind!

Since you are preoccupied with lying about record companies, please tell us Inept Senior Skeptic Maclen how much Dierks Bentley will have to pay back Capitol Nashville because he's sold less than Keith Urban. We know you think you deserve documentation of how he spends every hour of his life. So what if you don't get what you aren't entitled to? We're happy to let you look like an idiot and republish your thoughts on his "one day" in the studio. Is that one song an hour or does he crank them out every 15 minutes? LMAO!

Skeptics continue to play the oblivious card; you show yourselves to be the jealous boneheads you really are.

Coming up readers....a blog full of Keith Urban goodies exclusive to STS. Seriously the skeptics need to come here to get the skinny. Oh heck, we know they already do!

Investors are hoping that the new tour will help drive the video production company’s revenues. Last quarter, the firm realized a net loss that narrowed to $317,587, or $0.01 per share, versus approximately $1.3 million a year ago, on revenues of $413,272 versus just $61,022 a year ago. Some stories from the road. Isn't it interesting Urban Myths' Tara these businesses want the positive PR of having two superstars visit their establishments. Funny how they aren't embarrassed by what you call "has-beens"!

Keith Urban likes Fruita’s coffee
By Richie Ann Ashcraft
Monday, June 28, 2010

Tom Hinman wouldn’t know a celebrity if one walked right up to him.

So he was surprised to learn that legendary country music singer Keith Urban, headliner at this year’s Country Jam, did just that at Aspen Street Coffee House, last weekend.

Another person working the counter recognized Urban and told Hinman, owner of the shop.

Urban asked for a chicken sandwich but the coffee shop doesn’t serve chicken sandwiches, so he settled for a cup of black coffee instead.

“He was very pleasant,” laughed Hinman as he told of the brief conversation they had.

Urban, who was wearing a cowboy hat and dark sunglasses, asked “What do people say about your coffee?”

“They say it’s good,” Hinman replied.

“It is good,” Urban said.

That’s all there was to Hinman’s brush with country-music fame but it was enough for Hinman to change the sign out front to read: “Keith Urban likes what people say about our coffee.”

“It was obvious he really didn’t want to be bothered,” Hinman said, adding that Urban was accompanied by a woman and a very large bodyguard.

This is the first celebrity Hinman, whose owned the store for eight months, has ever met but rumor has it that Graham Nash, of the band Crosby, Stills and Nash, always makes a pit stop at Aspen Street when he’s in Fruita several times a year.

Celebrity Sighting: Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman Work Out at Fruita Gym

FRUITA, Colo (KKCO) - Country Jam 2010 is in the books -- but a Fruita business will be talking about it for a long time to come, after two huge stars stopped by on their way to Mack.

While thousands watched country music's biggest stars light up the stage at the Country Jam Ranch Sunday, Fruita Health Club employee Meghan Woodland was at work. Little did she know, however, that a big piece of Country Jam was going to come to her.

She got a phone call form the gym's owners telling her a band would be stopping by to work out -- but didn't find out who it was until later in the day.

"I got a second call saying that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were coming to work out," said Woodland, who was the only employee working at the time. "I was warned about ten minutes before they came so I could relax and get my business face on."

But Woodland says several days notice probably wouldn't have been enough time to calm her nerves.

"My jaw dropped," said Woodland. "It's a good thing I was sitting down, because I needed to sit."

Especially when they walked through the front door.

"It was surreal," said Woodland. "They're real people wearing real workout outfits. It sounds funny, but meeting them was just humbling. They said hello and thank you for letting us come here."

She says the famous couple worked out for about an hour and a half -- Nicole Kidman on an eliptical and Urban lifting weights and doing other strength training in the aerobics room.

"I would find things to do in the room out there so I could walk back-and-forth to see what they were doing," said Woodland.

Although security asked that no one take pictures of the pair while they worked out, the gracious superstars signed a wall near the front entrance of the gym -- giving the excited business a little something to remember this once in a lifetime encounter by.

"I hope next Country Jam I'm working here to see who I get to meet," said Woodland.

American Idol's Kris Allen talks about Keith

Exclusive Interview

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You're opening some shows with Barenaked Ladies and some shows with Keith Urban. They're so different musically. What has that been like for you?
A. Kris: It's been really cool. The music that we play, I think people are gonna love it. We played one show with Keith and it was awesome. We were in Vegas and there were a ton of people there. Keith is such a really cool guy and he embraces everything. We played a few shows with Barenaked Ladies too, and they have a great following. Being in the opener spot is great because you get to play for a bit and get the crowd excited.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What have you learned from being around them?
A. Kris: The times we've been around the Barenaked Ladies have been really scarce. They're funny guys. Keith handles himself really well. He's just a guy. He's one of the biggest country stars, or music stars in general, out there. He loves doing what he does. People forget that he's just a regular person, a regular guy.

Greeley Concert Review

Muddy cow poo wouldn’t stop fans from seeing the country superstar

Click on link for large set of concert photos

“Are you here for the Keith concert?” asked our waitress at Red Lobster in Greeley. Clearly our answer was an ecstatic “yes” as we looked around to see all the other country fans cuted up to head to the Greeley Stampede for the long-awaited concert. That’s right, Keith Urban was in Greeley getting ready to play in front of a packed crowd at the fairgrounds in the heart of the Greeley Stampede.

Metromix arrived to lines of cowboys and cowgirls ready to get in and get to their seats. It was slowly becoming obvious that Keith Urban is probably playing in front of thousands of his No. 1 fans with many handmade signs detailing their love for Urban and some reading as simple as “hug me.”

Concertgoers paid more to be up front and center and on the grounds of the arena. The only problem? It was a down pour hours earlier, leaving the fairgrounds a giant muddy mess. People even wrapped their feet up in plastic bags only to find that mud and plastic are slick. Others just said “The hell with it,” and wore no shoes around the muddy mess just to be closer to the stage. And some, yes like your fellow Metromixers, wore white high heels and stuck it out. We officially want a shirt that reads “We stepped in cow poo for Keith Urban.”
Yes, we were at a country concert and it couldn’t get more country than that.

Once Keith Urban came out on stage, the crowd went wild, shoving the people next to them to see if they can get a closer look at the long, flawless haired country superstar. Without a doubt concertgoers weren’t disappointed with the upbeat song choices of the night with Urban belting the familiar tunes of “Days Go By,” “You’ll Think of Me,” and “You Look Good in My Shirt.”

It wasn’t until Keith said to the crowd, “I am celebrating my wedding anniversary with my wife (Nicole Kidman) and she was going to leave and decided to stay behind so now she’s with me while I am in Greeley.” And the crowd went nuts with the thought of Nicole Kidman sitting backstage during the concert. Keith immediately went on to a popular love ballad and dedicated it to her.

All in all, fans stepped in cow poo for Keith Urban and nothing but smiles and lyrics left after the concert. We even overheard a couple fans say, “Gosh that Keith sure knows how to rock a crowd.”

We'll close by reminding you Dierks Bentley's new bluegrass cd, Up On The Ridge, is out now. If you love that kind of music pick yourself up a copy; it's a great collection of songs. Tragedy In Nashville

For those outside of Music City and the southeast United States, and that would be most of us, coverage of the massive flooding has been appallingly sparse. Our prayers, good thoughts, and good wishes go out to all people affected. As this blog concerns three residents of Nashville, the Urbans, it's appropriate we say we hope all is well and that your homes, property, belongings, and friends are all safe and sound. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's residence outside the city sits on a hill, so with that knowledge we hope that the worst is that the driveway is washed out.

Unfortunately with months worth of rain coming down in two days time and the Cumberland River overflowing, many landmarks have been affected. The Grand Ole Opry House, the Opryland Hotel, downtown Nashville and the world famous clubs are shut down and flooded out. So far 8 people have died in the Nashville area alone.

A few country music stars who regularly Twitter have shared their experiences and we hope anything they put out there will shed more light on this tragedy. It's not over and the media needs to pay attention.

Brad Paisley

# On the positive side everyone is safe. On the negative... I think all my road guitar gear, amps, effects, are under 3 ft of river.

E! Online Skeptic Nomorefan Is A Genius!

Readers, I know what you are thinking...."Skewermistress you have lost you mind!" Just hear me out folks. Skeptic nomorefan is truly a genius. She's figured out a surefire way to tell if celebrity marriages are fakes. Really. It's a foolproof method. If the celebrity couple poses in the same way at award shows the marriage is a sham. Makes perfect sense!

Let's try it out on Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams. We know their marriage is real, rock solid. Kimberly is a real woman, Brad's still a guy right?

2006 CMA Awards

2008 CMT Awards
